About Me

Claudia Jones
Art Director, Conceptual Artists, Photographer and Creative Thinker.

I am currently living in Cape Town, but hope to travel the world one day. I was born in Bloemfontein where I spent most of my childhood adventures on a small holding. We moved to Cape Town when I was 8 years old and was fortunate enough to be able to live close enough to the beautiful coast.

I matriculated in 2004 and went on to study photography in 2005 at Studio 7 on Drake.
2006 I studied DTP (Desktop Publishing) at Prestige Academy which then led me to AAA School of Advertising in 2007. I specialized in Art Direction and graduated with a BA in Creative Brand Communication.

I gained most of my experience and knowledge working for a company that develops Educational Software. My role there was Conceptual Artists and Marketing Assistant.
Even though I was thrown into the deep end fresh from college, I loved the huge challenges of learning everyday. I was given a lot of freedom to grow and got involved within many parts of the company.  I was fortunate to have my everyday job, form my career and passion. I enjoyed being in charge of determining the best ways of representing different features of our product in so many ways.

My responsibilities were:
- Assisting in developing, updating and maintaining companies products.
- Ensuring that stock and advertising artworks are current, relevant and correctly implemented.
- Organizing ordering and collections for stock, and any other products.
- Giving inputs/planning to marketing tasks as well as execution of these tasks.
- Developing visual material used in corporate presentations.
- Managing and Maintain company branding (Corporate Identity)
- Giving input to Research and Development of company tasks.
- Competencies: Research, Resourcefulness, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Planning, Organising and Control of Marketing and Creative Conceptual tasks.

After gaining work experience, I went on to broaden my horizons and taught English in Thailand. I adapted easily to the outcomes that was expected from me to advance my students in English Conversation. This was accomplished by planning my own lesson plans and building on it to achieve these outcomes. I found by using themes, not only did it establish great conversation skills but it also enabled students to practically engage in the language being learned.

After returning from Thailand, I started working in the printing and branding industry, gaining more experience in design, project and product management, office management and all round business skills. I'm a jack jill of all trades :-)
My dream for 2015 is to do a post grad in Creative Art Therapy

Hope to hear from you soon!
